Disability Team Open Day

We’ve been working with young people from The Challenge #Manchester as part of the National Citizens Service to deliver an Open Day for our three adult PAN-disability teams.

Just short of 30 out of a total of 40 of our players attended Bower Fold today to join in the fun in the sun.

We held our Team Photo for all three teams, along with individual players photos and a squad shot.

All three teams were mixed into five teams of six for a small sided tournament, before doing the end of season awards presentation in the Sponsor’s Lounge.

Well done to the following who collected a Trophy today –

Sean Jeffrey – Most Improved Player*
Brad Finnegan – Players Player*
Anthony Fairhurst – Sportsperson*
Wayne Brocklehurst – Managers Player

* voted for by the whole squad.

Congratulations to the Blues who won the Cheshire East Ability Counts League One and Stalybridge Celtic AFG who won the Plate at the Cheshire Ability Counts Cup.

A great season, well done to everyone who played in a Stalybridge Celtic FC shirt.

Training starts again on 5th September for the 2019/20 season.

One Club One Community

Some of our Community Team players were on hand for the First Team photo that took place at Bower Fold last Thursday, prior to Training.

We were pleased to have players representing our two Adult PAN-disability Teams, Stalybridge Celtic Blues and Stalybridge Celtic Whites, along with our Walking Footballers, Vintage Celtic.

The Blues and Whites will again be competing in the Cheshire East Ability Counts League over at Power League in Stockport, each month and again in the Ability Counts Cup, held at the Cheshire FA HQ in June 2020.

Vintage Celtic will be looking to build on a good debut season in the Curzon Ashton Fair Play League, which starts on 25th September and runs (?) throughout the course of the season.

Good luck to all three teams for the forthcoming season from everyone at Stalybridge Celtic FC!
